EPFO Auto Settlement for PF Balances Up to ₹1,000
The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has introduced an automatic settlement facility for eligible inoperative Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) accounts with balances of up to ₹1,000. Under this initiative, eligible members will not need to submit individual claims to receive their outstanding PF balances, subject to the prescribed identity and bank-account verification requirements. The announcement was made by Union Minister for Labour and Employment Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya on 1 November 2026 during EPFO’s 74th Foundation Day celebrations in New Delhi. According to the Ministry of Labour and Employment, approximately one lakh inoperative PF accounts involving around ₹5 crore are expected to benefit from the initiative. EPFO has also announced WhatsApp-based member services that will allow subscribers to access PF balance information, recent transactions and passbook details through its verified WhatsApp service.
